Functional Exercise Training
Learning how to use your body properly is an essential part of the chiropractic approach to health. Throughout your chiropractic care, you will be instructed in the proper use of an exercise program, custom-tailored to your individual goals and needs. This part of your care plan is essential for maintaining proper strength and flexibility to support your spine as well as move and function with less risk of future injury. The doctors will specifically tailor an introductory exercise routine to help you regain motion, flexibility, reduce strain, and improve posture. These exercises will support all of your chiropractic adjustments so that you get the maximum rehabilitative benefits immediately from your care plan.
For patients that are looking to take their exercise routine to the next level but looking for a little extra support, we are partnered with ACAC in there P.R.E.P program (Physician Referred Exercise Program). As part of ACAC’s Physician’s Advisory Board, Dr. Deron and Dr. Jennifer Jester can refer patients to ACAC’s phenomenal facility to engage in a 60 day guided exercise program to help them establish a safe and effective exercise routine to help them continue independently. Jester Family Chiropractic is honored to be among some of the best doctors in the area that are part of this program and our patients who have gone through the program have had fantastic results.
Kinesio-Tape is catching on, everyone from elite athletes, sports enthusiasts, pregnant mothers, children, and your clumsy neighbor seems to be using Kinesio-Tape. That’s because it works!! This special tape is ideal for supporting stressed or strained muscles and joints, reducing inflammation, promoting circulation and lymphatic drainage, and speeding up healing. The tape itself is water resistant and can be left on for several days, it is lightweight and latex-free, flexible and semi-breatheable.
How does it work? The tape itself is very special. The brightly-colored kinesiology tape is made up of cotton fibers with polymer elastic strands woven throughout. Whereas traditional athletic tape restricts blood flow and movement, kinesiology tape is pliable and allows for a full range of motion. It’s special structure lifts the tissue and reduces adhesion and congestion of the muscle and fascia fibers to allow better motion, circulation, and healing of damaged tissue.
